Lagos, Nigeria

7th February 2020

The Lagos Marathon attracts a large number of participants to Nigeria's largest city. As of 2020 it holds a World Athletics Silver Label.

The race route takes runners from the National Stadium Surulere to Eko Atlantic City on Victoria Island (the financial center of the city).

The race is usually run in warm conditions running from 22 to 27 degrees Celcius. If you are visiting from a colder climate you will want to get that heat training in.

Lagos is a growing shopping destination with a wild night life. If you want something more relaxing to do post race you can head to La Campagne Tropicana, a 65 acre resort offering a mangrove forest to explore, and a fresh water lake (or the sea) to swim in to loosen up those sore muscles.
