Rock n Roll is a series of races around the world put on by owners, The Ironman Group (who unsurprisingly also run the well known Ironman brand of triathlon events).
Given their size and scale they are able to put on extremely high quality, large events in large cities around the world.
They are well known for their vibrant looking medals and they incentivise participation in their events by offering all sorts of challenges whereby upon completing different numbers/combinations of events you can win unique medals. Complete 15 or more half marathons/marathons in a given year and you can enter into their Hall of Fame.
The events have been running since 1998, and the name comes from the significant part that music plays within the events that they organise. Live bands on course, cheers squads, and musical entertainment before and after events are common occurrences at Rock n Roll events.
