This race is the largest race in Southern Italy, offering 7,500 places. It is run by RunCzech, a company that have a lot of experience running high level running events.
The race starts and finishes at the Mostra d’Oltremare and takes runners along the Naples seafront, and into the historical center. The temperature on race day is usually between 10 and 15 degrees Celcius (the perfect temperature), and the course is extremely flat.
Whereas previously international athletes needed medical certification to take part in the race, Italian rule changes mean that this is no longer the case.
Naples is well known for its food. As well as being the home of pizza, it is also the home to a number of Michelin starred restaurants. It is close to the famous (active) volcano Vesuvius, and has a deep and varied history in and of itself.
