This half marathon race takes place on (the manmade) Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.
The race currently holds a World Athletics Gold Label, and sells itself as being the fastest half marathon in the world after Ethiopia's Ababel Yeshaneh broke the world record in the 2020 edition (in 1:04:31).
The 2021 edition of the race marks the 15th edition of this race that attracts close to 3,500 runners each year to the pristine beaches of the Arabian Gulf.
