Valencia, Spain

6th December 2020

The race is an IAAF Gold certified race (as of 2016) that is known for being incredibly fast. It has been run for nearly 30 years (having started in 1981).

The race is organised by the SD Correcaminos running club in conjunction with Valencia City Council and as such you can be assured that it is extremely well organised race from a logistics point of view.

Valencia is a a massive Spanish city where one can appreciate a traditional Valencia paella and appreciate some fantastic cultural sights.

The weather is consistently warm in Valencia, but the December race date means that the weather will be at its coolest (generally peaking at around 17 degrees celcius).

2019 was the last edition of the event that also included a 10k race. In that race the 10k world record (at the time) was broken by Joshua Cheptegei in an astonishing 26:38. The event was stopped to allow the organisers to focus on the ever growing marathon, but 10k runners can run the 10k Valencia Ibercaja in January instead.
