The Outlying Fells are the 116 summits described in Alfred Wainwright's The Outlying Fells of Lakeland (1974), the companion to his seven Pictorial Guides. They circle the fringes of the Lake District, from Walna Scar at 621 m down to modest tops of a couple of hundred metres, and Wainwright wrote the book with older walkers in mind: gentler days that still end on a summit. A summit counts as visited when a recording of yours passes within 150 m of it. Connect Strava and your history is scanned automatically, with detected summits suggested for you to confirm; you can also upload a GPX file, or record a visit manually.
